| Compared to other serious arcs it was one of the lesser ones but it was still a solid story, i just wish that the arc was longer to be expanded on more especially in the villain, i think it would of been alot better had there been more to it than the 3 episodes we got. |

Gotta give really high praise for the animation and the soundtrack use for this few episode Already Read the manga and now the anime and still not missing the feel hahahaha LOVE IT!! 5/5 totally AAAANNNDDD MADAO!!! |
| WOW HOLY FUCKING FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!! What an episode! Jesus H. Christ!!!! When Nononobu addressed Takasugi, I just had a fucking heart attack! That was so amazing -- fangirling the whole way through. Nobunobu seems like such a boss. Goddamn, I can't wait to see what kind of shit he does in the Shogun arc. And oh my goodness, it's so beautiful how they indirectly told us why Gin-san was at the cemetery. That was one of, if not the, biggest Gintama-question of mine, and TBH, them revealing it like this was just perfect. Lastly, the new OST is majestic; when Nobunobu appeared, I raised the volume so damn high 'cause that theme with that scene was pure divine. And when they starting playing the OP in the background, shit... much perfection. All-in-all, best episode this Summer season; not just the episode, but the arc also gets a perfect score. P.S. I started fistpumping like mad when Madao was narrating the preview -- CAN, NOT, WAIT for Madao to grace my screen. (It seems it might be a horror-themed episode, so hopefully it gets a random end like ep. 136.) |

| The beheading scene was brutal. Such a roller coaster of emotions, I was shocked when Okita stated Asaemon had committed suicide and utterly glad when the new Yaemon greeted the trio at their execution site. Overall, an enjoyable arc. |
| Great episode! I love how Gintama puts in a very serious episode and always manages to make you laugh still for exmaple (Gintoki's nipple incident at the end) xD |
| I thought it was strange that the OP has the ED song play with it but having the OP at the end of the episode have a better feeling and great way to conclude the arc. That is one way to introduce a villain, I can't wait to see someone punch him in the face. |

| Amazing episode. I love serious Gintama arcs, so it was perfect for me. Animation is now better than it was recently. Soundtrack as good as always. I am waiting for the next episodes. |

| Amazing episode!! Even though Gintama has always known for its comedic tone, i really prefer the serious arc. Sometimes it felt like i watching Ruroni Kenshin for some reason. And before they even credited Ikeda Yaemon's Seiyuu. I already knew he was voiced by Isshin Chiba. Especially how he pretty much sounds like Jin Kazama here!!! Damn so Takasugi was supposed to kill Yaemon, but Nobu Nobu killed him instead?? This Nobu Nobu guy kinda look like Shogun with a fake wig :O It'll be interesting how Nobu Nobu vs Gintoki will be in the future!?!?! We also need more Takasugi appearance. I Love Dio's voice ^^ Hahaha Gintoki's right nipple get's cut off once again!! Can't wait for the next episodes! Looks like we'll be going back to the comedic tone, so finally don't have to complain about the current arc being too serious. |

| I really loved this arc. Glad to see a serious Gintama arc again, although I believe we won't be getting that for a long, long time from now on. Not that it matters, I love Gintama's comedy just as much. I loved the opening visuals with the ending song. And I feel like seeing Sacchan again. We need more Sacchan. |

| Man, the show just keeps on improving and I love it! 10/10 as always. As previously said at the previous posts, some foreshadowing was done and it leads to something really, really BIG. Potential 20/10 arc! XD Off topic: So, one out of the four(?) arcs spoiled from the OP just ended and the OP was used. What songs will they be using for the remaining arcs? Will they change the ED halfway through? Strangely, I always look forward for these AMV recaps after each arc. Maybe some kind of fetish haha! |

| Wasn't as much swordplay as I expected but it makes sense this way because this wasn't just Gintoki's fight. That part though, the fucking part where Yaemon ,the 18th, cut Asaemon's throat. I thought it was done! Didn't really like the part where Yaemon decided to save Gintoki and Asaemon that much though or at the very least the way they handled it. Felt cheesy. I honestly thought Asaemon was dead twice this episode but Gintama loves pulling those twists. Was about to cry when we found out she "killed" herself. Happy ending! Thoughts about this arc overall: The OST was pretty good. I felt like there a bit too much of the same flashbacks we've already seen. That last flashback where Gintama is limping in the snowy night to the cemetery where it all began was tearjerking for me. Definitely not one of the best arcs but it gave us some precious backstory on Gintoki's past and it also setup future arcs. I love when Gintama gets serious. Especially in arcs that seem like another funny arc but actually get pretty emotional, one of these in particular is an arc with an alien invader who took over an old man's dog by mistake. One of the best. |

| This arc was twisted in many ways and I'm not just referring to how dark it is. One of the biggest things that bothered me is that dumbass told Asaemon the story about her father, who easily betrayed her for his own life, and seriously expected her to kill Gintoki because of that? Even if his real intention was to get the story out before his inevitable death it was still retarded. I like the music that played when Nobunobu was talking though. |

You already did it! :D And for those who advice to drop Gintama now - it's not only you who read manga. I know what to expect. Those later serious arcs are just much below comedies. There were some great, but mostly in first/second seasons. I'm not going to quit my most favourite show, but sad arcs make me sad, and not in a good way. |

| (Very) late to the party but I just watched the episode. One word : Epic. I didn't mind the flashbacks, it's what actually helps builds tension, as seen in every nekkutsu ever. Then again I'm a huge nekketsu fan so there's that. It's amazing how Gintama goes from serious/the feels to corny comedy in a heartbeat, only anime that I know of which can do that. Also, the brief fight between Gin and Yaemon is a parody of Ichimaru Gin vs Hitsugaya Toshiro... and Yaemon has a bit of Ichimaru with the closed eyes and little smile, plus the whole first part of the arc is a Bleach parody... I can't be the only one who noticed that !!! That reference made the confrontation b/w Gin and Yaemon so fucking awesome. |
